Videos Show Alleged College Sex Cult Leader Lawrence Ray Body Slamming Screaming Victim
One video purportedly depicted a 20-minute assault on alleged victim Felicia Rosario, while another showed Lawrence Ray aggressively interrogating another alleged victim, Claudia Drury.
A series of shocking videos of alleged sex cult leader Lawrence Ray purportedly abusing his victims were shown during his federal trial, including one in which Ray is seen throwing a woman to the ground and pinning her down as she screams and threatens to kill herself.
The videos, which were shown in court Tuesday — before the trial was halted after Ray suffered an alleged medical episode and was rushed out of court on a stretcher — provided a disturbing behind-the-scenes look at his interactions with the Sarah Lawrence college students he met in 2010 through his college-age daughter.
In one nearly 20-minute-long video obtained by Law & Crime, Ray can be seen apparently grabbing one of his alleged victims, Felicia Rosario and body-slamming her down on the kitchen floor. Her head can be heard slamming into the ground before he pins her down as she flails and screams.
“No more!” she screams. “Get off of me, Larry, please! Please get off of me!”
Rosario screams that she wants to kill herself, while also professing her love for Ray in the clip.
“I love you, Larry. I want to get married still. I f—king love you, bitch,” she said in the video, also obtained by The New York Post.
Ray is facing 17 counts of racketeering, sex trafficking, extortion, forced labor, money laundering and other charges in connection with the alleged cult he formed by using his power and influence to control and manipulate the college students, prosecutors say.
Ray allegedly gained control over his victims by forcing them to make false confessions about trying to poison him or damage his property, then used the videos to extort money from them — collecting $2 million from his victims over a 10-year-period.
One of the so-called interrogation videos played in court, showed Ray aggressively interrogating Claudia Drury, a woman prosecutors say he also forced into prostitution.
In the video, Drury — who is wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt — can be seen crying as Ray confronted her about allegedly damaging his website.
“When’s the last time you damaged something?” he asked.
“Like, the day before yes — Well, today because I didn’t tell you about the site,” she said through tears.
Ray threatened to post the video confession on Facebook.
“Everybody out there in Facebook land, do you know Claudia as a truthful person or a liar? Well, Claudia, what you think?” he asked, as she hid her face with the sleeve of her sweatshirt and cried. “Look at you. How you feel sorry for yourself. Look, you did something wrong. You know what’s shocking, astounding and disgusting? You do something wrong to someone else, you victimize somebody, and then you sit there and cry about it.”
She later said she was jealous of the relationship Ray had with his daughter, Talia.
“I wish that I had a relationship with you like you have with Talia and my dad, but I don’t, obviously,” she said.
Ray asked her if she tried to “hurt” him because he was close with his daughter.
“It’s not jealousy,” she responded. “That’s not what it is.”
Another video shows Santos Rosario — who testified earlier this week about being forced to wear diapers as punishment — is seen repeatedly slapping himself while pleading with his sister, Felicia, to be quiet and not make any noise.
Ray’s trial was halted Tuesday when he suffered a medical episode after the videos were played in court. His attorney, Marne Lenox, said that Ray had suffered a seizure at a Brooklyn jail earlier that morning and, although it initially appeared he would be able to be in court, his health deteriorated while in the courtroom.
