3 Men Allegedly Raped Passed-Out Teen Girl, Then Posted Pictures Of Horrid Assault On Snapchat
Alexander Wood, Quentin Smith and Dominic Cboins have been charged in the alleged sexual assault in a hotel room in Warren, Ohio.
Three Ohio men are accused of raping an intoxicated and unconscious girl at a hotel before uploading the heinous attack on Snapchat.
The alleged incident took place back in April at the Mason Inn in Mason, Ohio. The 17-year-old victim, who has not been named, visited a hotel room with her boyfriend during a party, according to local outlet Journal-News. At some point, her boyfriend left the room and the girl began drinking to the point of intoxication.
Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell told WKRC in Cincinnati that the victim drank to the point of vomiting and lost consciousness.
Alexander Wood, Quentin Smith and Dominic Cboins, all 18, then allegedly raped her. Wood and Cboins are from Lebanon and Smith is from South Lebanon. Wood and Smith are also accused of recording parts of the attack, which they uploaded to Snapchat.
“This particular victim didn’t have any idea the extent of what had happened because she was passed out. During the course of the evening, two of the defendants were sending out Snapchat photographs that were showing her passed out and being sexually assaulted," Fornshell told local outlet Fox19.
The victim only learned about the assault when her friends sent her the uploaded clips.
“To have these videos of you being sexually assaulted disseminated to a number of individuals without you even knowing until they come and tell you about it after the fact would be horrific,” Fornshell told WKRC.
She reported the attack three weeks later. Although the Snapchat videos of the attack disappeared, investigators were able to retrieve the alleged evidence, according to WKRC.
Wood and Smith have been charged with rape, sexual battery, three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor or impaired person and illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, according to online records. Cboins has been charged with rape and sexual battery.
Smith and Wood were arraigned Wednesday and each given a bond of $25,000. During Wood’s arraignment, the prosecution said that Wood has been in contact with the victim via phone and social media. He was ordered to halt contact with her. Cboins is being held without bond and is due for an arraignment on Nov. 22. It’s not clear if any have lawyers that can speak on their behalf at this time.
It is not clear how the suspects know the victim but Fornshell hinted that they were supposed to be her friends.
"You send your kids out and you hope they make good decisions, but you hope if they make bad decisions that there are going to be people out there looking out for them and who are trying to make sure that nothing worse happens to them, not that they see them as an easy target to rape,” he told WKRC.
