Conner Cook, the close friend of disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh’s recently murdered son, is seeking a jury trial and unspecified compensation in the lawsuit filed this week.
The day after Curtis "Fast Eddie" Smith was released from jail, he shared his version of the events that led to Alex Murdaugh's shooting, saying that he has been set up as the "fall guy" by the disgraced attorney.
Alex Murdaugh, the South Carolina legal scion, arrived at the Hampton County Law Enforcement Center and is charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and filing a false police report.
Gloria Satterfield died in February of 2018 after an alleged "trip and fall" accident at the family's former home, but her death was never reported to the coroner's office and an autopsy was never performed.
The police report into beleaguered widower Alex Murdaugh's roadside shooting was inaccurate — he had "an entry and exit wound, a skull fracture, and minor brain bleeding in two places," his lawyer said.
