Prosecutors argued serial killer Michael Gargiulo derived pleasure from sadistically murdering beautiful young women.

The sentencing, delayed by procedural issues and the pandemic, came nearly two years after a jury convicted Gargiulo and recommended his execution.

All of Michael Gargiulo’s victims were “young, attractive, and outgoing" young women, said Los Angeles Assistant District Attorney Garret Dameron.

Ashley Ellerin was stabbed more than three dozen times, creating a crime scene that one detective will never forget.

A jury recommended serial killer Michael Gargiulo be put to death, but his defense team is seeking a new trial for the “Hollywood Ripper.”

Michael Gargiulo, otherwise known as the “Hollywood Ripper,” targeted multiple women in Los Angeles before his 2008 arrest.

Also known as the "Boy Next Door Killer," Michael Gargiulo will return for formal sentencing next year.

Despite the brutal murders Michael Gargiulo has been convicted of, his teenage son pleaded with jurors to spare his life.
